Day 65: Benson Pass

Started: Tentsite (956.1)

Ended: Tentsite (972.8)

Total Miles: 16.7

Achievements: Benson Pass (10,108 ft.)

Today was an up and down day. If you add up all the climbing and descending, we completed a major pass like Glen or Muir.

The climb up Benson was pretty simple. The descent was horrible. I pulled something in my left leg trying to make it down the path. Here at the tentsite, an experienced hiker said it was the worst he’s done.

Still, the views on top of the pass was awesome.

We should have an easier day tomorrow. The sooner we get to Kennedy Meadows North, the sooner we mail home our no longer needed bear canisters. That should speed things up considerably.
